Learning Data Science through an Experiment

Learning Data Science through an Experiment

When we think about data science, we think of highly sophisticated technology which only a few can understand and others can gaze in awe. Is it true? Nope. Not at all.

Let me try to break “Data Science” to you. Data Science is as obvious, made up of two-words data and science, duh! But what makes it interesting is a little theory that I call “circle triangle theory”. Now imagine you want to create a circle but with the help of triangles only, how will you do that?

Seems highly complicated right? Actually, it is not! Data Science is a science of learning from data and enhancing information with or without a defined logic. So by definition – let’s get 100 triangles.

That is a lot of triangles. This is looking interesting now, isn’t it?

And let’s place all the triangles in an order with a common center. Have a close look at the periphery of triangles, it looks like a circle in making?

So, we know we are on the right path, now let’s add 100 more circles. Isn’t it looking like a circle now?

Did we just solve a problem? Are we a scientist now?

This is what exactly data science is – learning from subsets of pieces of information and completing a whole picture that becomes knowledge. We find various pieces of information which are related to each other and with the help of a little coding we make meaning out of all related information.

Hence data science is for everyone – it is complicated yet at the same time very lean in terms of understanding. Data science works on a logical understanding of problems than providing a mathematical structure that validates statistical assumptions. So, you can trust and enjoy the power of data science in the industry of your choice.
